Healthy Summer Dessert
Summertime (not to mention 4th of July) is the perfect time for this red, white, and blue fruit salad tossed in a delicious honey-lime glaze. As if fruit isn’t yummy enough, the sweetness of honey mixed with the refreshing tartness of lime takes this fruit salad dessert to the next level. What I love about this recipe is it’s simplicity. Nothing fancy, nothing you can’t easily find at the grocery store, and best of all, it keeps me from buying a frozen pie with unhealthy ingredients. This is a great go-to for all of your summer parties when you need something fast and healthy. With honey being the only sweetener, you won’t have any regrets about going back for seconds.
Kid Friendly
Maybe this happens to all moms, but my first thought when thinking of something to take to a party is- “what will my kids eat”. I know that parties come with lots of desserts, and lots of dishes that my kids may not like. This is a great way to ensure that they will at least eat some fruit at the party and these berries will give them a nice boost of antioxidants.
Naturally Sweetened With Honey
Adding a glaze is a great way to add a little extra to your fruit salad. I love that this recipe calls for honey. It’s still sugar (why it tastes so good) but I like that it’s a natural sugar and has health benefits that refined sugar does not. For example, raw honey contains trace vitamins and minerals. Thank you Bees!
