Banana Republic Styling Event
I was recently invited to be the host at a Banana Republic Styling Event for their factory store at the St Augustine Premium Outlets. If you know me, you know that I love timeless fashion, great deals, and sharing those deals with others. This event was just that, plus sweets and sips provided by the wonderful team at Banana Republic!
Building A Capsule Wardrobe
I’ve recently started to focus on building a capsule wardrobe for myself and I was excited to help shoppers at the Banana Republic event style pieces various ways, achieve different looks, and get the most out of their closet (and their budget). Banana Republic is known for having elegant, timeless pieces, so it’s a perfect for building a capsule wardrobe.
One of my favorite capsule wardrobe pieces is a classic white shirt like this one pictured above. It can be worn by itself, tied around the waist for a casual look, or tied up and worn over a dress for a chic summer look. Plus- it has a removable bow, which makes everything better. Another great piece to have on hand is a summer dress. It’s an easy piece to dress up or down. Throw on a denim jacket (another staple piece), add a scarf, a hat, or add that white shirt and you look like you’re wearing a vintage shirt-skirt combo.
My favorite part of the Banana Republic styling event was simply shopping with people and helping them find creative ways to wear the pieces they love so they can get the most out of them. If you like the idea of purging your closet (who doesn’t need to do that) and building a capsule wardrobe that makes getting dressed simpler, read on for a few tips.
Tips For Building A Capsule Wardrobe
1. Only buy Pieces You LOVE.
(If you don’t love it, you wont want to wear it multiple times.)
2. Buy Staple Pieces.
(classic pieces like a white shirt, denim jacket, a great pair of jeans, and a summer dress)
3. Accessorize.
Accessories can easily change the look of an outfit-on a budget! Think hats, scarves, belts, jackets).
4. Think Quality.
A Capsule Wardrobe means you’re wearing pieces multiple times, so buy quality pieces that will hold up well.
5. Think Outside The Box.
Lastly, mix it up! Try to think of ways to make each piece work more than one way. Tie a scarf around your hair, your neck, or use it as an embellishment for your bag. Wear a dress as a skirt…you get the idea:)
Thanks For A Fabulous Day
A special thanks to Nikole and the entire team at Banana Republic Factory Store for welcoming Vintage & Grace and for a fun, fashion-filled event.
