When Belize In You asked if I would review of few of their skin care products, I was happy to do so. Let me tell you why ….
A Company Who Gives Back
When first researching the company I found that Belize In You supports cancer patients in Belize as well as the first hospice home in the country. I really love being able to support companies who are finding ways to create great products, while simultaneously helping others around them. In my opinion, that is what separates good companies from great ones. Belize was started by a woman named Raquel Battle. A daughter of a Belizean fisherman, Raquel has found a way to utilize the healing benefits of the sea she loves, while also giving back to her community.
Belize In You also helps the local seaweed farmer. In their own words, “When you purchase a seaweed soap you help patients at the end of life and farmers to expand seaweed farms in Belize.” Both of these causes were motivators for me to try these products out firsthand.
A Company Who Cares About Ingredients
The other reason I agreed to review their products is that they are mindful of their ingredients. Belize uses natural and raw ingredients that are ethically sourced from the beautiful waters of the Caribbean and the Mayan mountains of Belize. To preface, my skin is very sensitive. It doesn’t take much for my skin to freak out from fragrances, dyes, and harsh ingredients. I’m happy to report that after a week of use, the products I used left me reaction free!

The cleanser is packaged beautifully. It has a gel consistency and a slightly floral scent. I was nervous at first about the scent- typically anything with a scent is risky for me. But when I double checked the ingredients and saw ” Rose Hip Seed Oil” I was relieved to know it was natural fragrance. I thought the cleanser worked well and it even removed mascara. Yay for products that can wash away eye makeup! My skin felt clean but not overly dry like some cleansers seem to do. I also loved that the cleanser has Vitamin A that helps boost collagen for younger looking skin- because who doesn’t want that?!
Hydro Bliss Thirsty Skin Elixir
So not only is my skin super sensitive, it can also be very dry. So when I saw the Thirsty Skin Elixir, I was exited to see if it could quench my dry skin. The consistency of the Elixir is very thin. Think more lightweight oil and less gel or cream. I applied it right after the cleanser and it felt great. It even helped my makeup to go on smoother and last longer. It reminded me of primers I have tried before, but more moisturizing. I was pleasantly surprised at how long my skin stayed smooth. My skin typically soaks up most creams and oils within minutes. When I apply at night, I wake up with softer skin. *Beauty tip- nighttime is when your body can use moisturizer the best. So don’t skip the nightly routine.
Overall I was very happy with the products I received from Belize In You. I would recommend them to those with even the most sensitive and dry skin. And if you like supporting companies that have more than just great products, this is one to consider.
