Rethreaded: Fashion With Purpose

One of my favorite fashion icons put it best when she said “As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself, the other for helping others.”~ Audrey Hepburn.

I’ve recently started searching for fashion brands to collaborate with, who not only create amazing fashion, but also choose to help others along the way.

New Creations

The first brand I found happened to be right under my nose (so to speak). Meet Rethreaded. Started by Kristin Keen and located in Jacksonville, Fl., Rethreaded exists to end the cycle of sex trafficking by providing survivors a place to create beautiful pieces, earn a living, and grow in community with others. Their purpose is holistic in that the women are cared for mind, body, and soul. A place where old is made new in many ways. From donated T-shirts that transform into beautiful scarves or jewelry, to women who shed their past to walk in newness of life.

Local + Global

Rethreaded not only showcases the work of their own local artisans/survivors, but also the work of other survivors around the world. Every piece you see (in store and online) has touched the hands of someone who has been affected by sex trafficking and is using their talents to rise above it. Rethreaded has helped 20 women locally and over 2000 women through their global companies. 

Style

When you go to rethreaded you will find an assortment of styles to match your own. Whether your style is bright and colorful, boho-chic, or classic and simple, they’ve got you covered. I recently stopped by their shop and the Simplicity Necklace caught my eye. Perfect for all of the black and white trends going around right now.
